Course Durations & Structure

A comprehensive introduction covering all theoretical and practical elements of lorry loader operation, including setup, lifting, and de-rigging. Ideal for new operators with no previous experience using lorry loaders or HIAB cranes.
Designed for experienced operators who have practical experience using a lorry loader but no formal NPORS qualification. Training focuses on reinforcing best practice, lifting legislation, and preparing for the NPORS theory and practical assessment.
For current or recently expired NPORS N107 cardholders or those holding equivalent certification. Includes a short revision and full assessment of theory and practical skills.
Please note: Durations are approximate. Actual training time may vary depending on delegate numbers, experience, and assessment results.
Entry Requirements
To ensure the course runs safely and effectively, all delegates must meet the minimum physical and occupational standards required under NPORS and BS7121 guidelines.
Be aged 18 or over on the first day of training.
Have basic literacy and numeracy skills to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
Be physically fit, in good general health, and capable of safely completing all practical elements of the training and assessment.
Learners should not suffer from medical conditions that could affect their ability to participate safely, such as:
Impaired eyesight or hearing
Heart disease or high blood pressure
Epilepsy or impaired limb function
Alcohol or drug dependence
Psychiatric illness or similar health concerns
Meet the general prerequisites (aged 18+, physically fit, medically suitable).
Have basic literacy and numeracy skills to complete assessments in English.
Be able to actively participate in both theory and practical sessions.
Have an interest or involvement in plant or vehicle loading operations (no prior qualification required).
Meet all general prerequisites.
Have hands-on experience using lorry loaders or similar lifting equipment.
Provide evidence of relevant experience, such as:
Employer reference or statement of competence
Proof of operating experience or in-house training records
Understand basic lifting safety, controls, and signalling procedures.
Hold a current or recently expired NPORS Lorry Loader (N107) or equivalent card (within 6 months of expiry).
Provide evidence of continued operation, such as recent lifting activities or site logs.
Meet all general prerequisites.
Be able to demonstrate updated knowledge of LOLER, PUWER, and industry standards.

To deliver NPORS Lorry Loader (N107) training safely and effectively at your premises, the following must be provided:
A suitable lorry loader (HIAB) in safe working condition with valid maintenance records.
Lifting accessories such as slings, hooks, or chains (with valid inspection tags).
Stable ground for setup and outrigger deployment.
Loads or materials suitable for lifting practice (e.g. pallets, pipes, or equipment).
Safe working area with adequate space for lifting and manoeuvring.
Classroom or meeting room for the theory element.
