How long the course takes depends on your experience and current role. Choose the option below that best fits your background.
Ideal for delegates new to plant marshalling or site traffic operations. Covers theory, demonstrations, and hands-on practice in guiding a range of plant machinery.
For those with previous marshalling or banking experience but no formal NPORS certification. Focuses on reinforcing correct signalling, safe systems of work, and assessment preparation.
For current or recently expired NPORS N133 cardholders (within 6 months of expiry). A short session reviewing best practice and completing theory and practical reassessments.

Entry Requirements
To ensure the course runs safely and effectively, all delegates must meet the minimum physical and occupational standards required under NPORS and BS7121 guidelines.
Be aged 18 or over on the first day of training.
Have basic literacy and numeracy skills to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
Be physically fit, in good general health, and capable of safely completing all practical elements of the training and assessment.
Learners should not suffer from medical conditions that could affect their ability to participate safely, such as:
Impaired eyesight or hearing
Heart disease or high blood pressure
Epilepsy or impaired limb function
Alcohol or drug dependence
Psychiatric illness or similar health concerns
Meet the general prerequisites (aged 18+, physically fit, medically suitable).
Have basic English literacy and numeracy for theory components.
Be able to communicate clearly using standard hand signals and radio if required.
No previous marshalling experience is necessary.
Meet all general prerequisites.
Have prior experience in marshalling or banking plant or vehicles.
Provide evidence of experience, such as:
Employer statement or site log confirming previous duties.
Recent training or internal competency record.
Be confident in using industry-recognised hand and radio signals.
Hold a current or recently expired NPORS Plant Machinery Marshal (N133) or equivalent qualification.
Provide evidence of recent work experience in plant or vehicle marshalling.
Meet all general prerequisites.
Demonstrate up-to-date understanding of site traffic control systems and risk management.

At least one suitable plant machine or vehicle (e.g. excavator, dumper, or telehandler).
Communication equipment, such as two-way radios (if used on site).
Clear ground conditions and demarcated exclusion zones.
Classroom or office area for theory delivery.
