This one-day course is targeted at individuals working in the construction and engineering industry and is the first step to obtain your CSCS Green Labourers Card. The main objective is to teach individuals how to manage risks and work together to ensure their workplace is a safe environment.
The course will highlight the importance of being able to recognise potential hazards, how to keep yourself and others safe, and protecting yourself when working at height or when lifting heavy objects (manual handling). The course will also cover topics such as fire safety, legal requirements and liabilities, and occupational health.
Following this course, you will be able to identify the most common health and safety issues that you may face whilst working on construction sites and how these issues affect your role. You will also learn what to do if you think your safety or the safety of others may be at risk.
The course is an ideal foundation for those wishing to obtain an industry site card and can be taken in preparation for the CITB Construction Skills Health, Safety & Environment test (CSCS) or as refresher training for operatives in any construction or building sector. It is also an alternative route to the QCF Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment for the CSCS Labourer Card.
The course provides health and safety awareness and is endorsed by Build UK as standard training for all operatives on site. The course includes official CITB publications for you to keep and use as a reference tool, as well as CITB certification which is valid for 5 years. A light lunch is also included. Please inform our sales team of any dietary requirements and/or allergies at time of booking.
