Overview

This program is designed for lorry, bus, and coach drivers who completed a vocational driving category course post-September 2009 but do not possess a DVSA Driver Qualification Card at present.

Upon successful completion, you will receive a Driver Qualification Card from the DVLA that is valid for five years. To ensure the continued validity of your DQC beyond five years, it is necessary to participate in a 35-hour Driver CPC Periodic Training course. This training can be scheduled as a one-day (7 hours) session annually to manage costs and minimize time off work or can be undertaken as a consolidated five-day (35 hours) block.

What does the package include?

Two hours of training will be provided before the testing session, including the rental of both the vehicle and instructor throughout the training and testing period. Additionally, the package includes the DVSA Driver CPC Module 4 practical demonstration test.

How long will it take? 

The entire process is estimated to take approximately 3 hours, and participants should anticipate being with us from 2 pm until 5 pm.

How much does the package cost?

The total cost is £200 which includes all DVSA test fees and VAT.

  • Candidates must be 18 or over
  • Already passed CPC Module 2 – Case Studies (Certification will be required as proof)

Which DVSA test centre do you use?

All CPC Module 4 tests are conducted exclusively at our training center in Bromborough. Both training and testing sessions are held at TL Training Ltd, located on Old Hall Road, Bromborough, Wirral, CH62 3NX.

What if I fail one or more of my tests?

Regardless of your high level of skill, experiencing test day nerves is a common occurrence. We provide ongoing support by offering additional training and testing as required. Below are the standard fees for CPC Module 4 retests:

£100, inclusive of VAT

This fee applies to candidates who have previously attempted but did not pass the CPC Module 4 with TL Training. Each retest package includes a minimum of 2 hours of extra training before the retest, along with the provision of a vehicle and instructor during the tests. For candidates needing further additional training, the cost is £60.00 per hour.

Do I need to take time off from work?

Once you have successfully passed your LGV driving test, the DVLA will issue your Driver Qualification Card (DQC), which is expected to be delivered by mail within approximately 3-4 weeks.

Upon successful completion of the LGV Driver CPC Module 4, candidates gain the authorisation to drive commercially for the following five years. During this period, it is mandatory to undergo 35 hours (5 days) of Driver CPC ‘Periodic Training’ to maintain your commercial driver status. This training cycle repeats every five years.
