MEWPs are versatile machines used indoors and outdoors for safe, efficient work at height involving personnel and equipment. They come in various types, such as scissor lifts, booms, and more. Our accredited MEWP training courses, certified by AITT or RTITB, provide thorough training for operators.
What is covered?
The course covers essential topics for safe operation. It starts with machine introduction and controls, emphasizing stability and secure work setup. It also includes adapting to site conditions, being environmentally aware, and using hydraulic systems responsibly. Emergency lowering and harness use are discussed. Participants will learn weight assessment, pre-use inspections, and machine preparation for transport, ensuring thorough training.
MEWP Course Types
Our courses are split into four separate category types:
NOVICE COURSE
At TL Training, a ‘Novice’ is someone with little or no experience using this specific machine type. Our AITT or RTITB accredited Novice Operator Course is for a maximum of 3 trainees, with training hours adjusted based on the number of candidates.

REFRESHER COURSE

EXPERIENCED UNCERTIFIED OPERATOR COURSE
TL Training identifies an ‘Experienced Uncertified Operator’ as someone with prior experience using this specific truck type but lacks formal training or documented proof. Our AITT or RTITB Experienced uncertified Operator Course can train a maximum of 3 participants, with training hours adjusted based on the number of candidates. To qualify, candidates need at least 12 months of recent operating experience within the last five years.
