Part 1 – Level 1 Health and Safety in a Construction Environment Video Based E-Learning Course
Each year in the UK, people are killed, injured and suffer work-related illnesses while carrying out their jobs.
So Health & Safety is a significant concern. The government, employers and workers all have an essential role to play in reducing deaths and accidents and preventing ill-health at work.
This course is aimed at people starting out in the construction industry and can be used as part of their induction process or as preparation for the online accredited exam. Whilst this course,
Level 1 Health & Safety in a Construction environment provides you with a qualification in its own right, it can also form part of your CSCS green card application.

The course starts with an introduction to the legal aspects of health and safety before covering the basics of risk assessment and safe working practices. It then goes into detail to cover the most common hazards encountered in construction environments from Working at Height and Respiratory Hazards to electrical and chemical hazards.

The course is aimed at people starting out in the construction industry.

Part 2 – Accredited Online Invigilated Exam
Course Description
Upon successfully passing the Level 1 Health and Safety in a Construction Environment Video Based E-Learning Course (Part 1) you will be given access to our online invigilated examination which can be taken anywhere. You will be able to access the examination 3 working days (Mon-Fri) after completing the online course as it takes this long for your registration details to be processed by the examining body.
Our market leading examination system delivers the final assessment direct to your candidate via the internet, invigilated using screen sharing and web cam, allowing them to receive their accreditation quicker and easier without the stress and hassle of visiting a training and exam centre.
As a UK Registered Learning Provider, our online exam is fully accredited by ETA Awards.
Target Audience
The course is only available to candidates who have completed the Level 1 Health and Safety in a Construction Environment Video Based E-Learning Course.
Further Progression
Upon successfully passing the online invigilated examination, you can then apply for the Green Card (CSCS Touch screen test is also required). The CSCS Touch screen test can be booked directly through the CSCS. Please visit their website for further details and prices.

Examination Rules
No external device can be used during the examination
- No additional tabs can be open on your computer (your screen will be recorded during the examination)
- Nobody else (including family members) is permitted to be in the same room during the examination
- No written notes can be used during the examination
- Any nearby entertainment devices (television, radio’s ect) must be switch off for the duration of the examination
- You must remain visible on webcam during the examination and leaving the room is not permitted
- Smoking is not allowed during the examination
- Eating is not allowed during the examination
- Drinking water is allowed but only from a clear glass or bottle
Failure to adhere to these rules may result you being disqualified.
