Multi-Directional Forklift Truck Training
The multi directional truck is often referred to as a combi-lift or 4 way steer. It is commonly used in industry both inside and outside of a warehouse to move and handle long loads.
They are versatile, with the facility to travel in any direction without turning the truck, including diagonally. This means that they can operate in narrower aisles, unlike reach trucks which are unable to turn to exit the aisle once they have retrieved a load.
The course covers, but is not limited to, the following areas:
- Controls and instruments
- Starting/moving/stopping/steering the truck
- Manoeuvres in confined areas
- Hydraulic system
- Battery care
- Load handling in open and confined areas
- Loading and unloading from and to racking systems
Course duration (based on 3 people)
- Novice candidates: 37.5 hours / 5 days
- Experienced candidates: 20 hours / 3 days
- Refresher candidates: 7.5 hours / 1 day
- Conversion candidates: 15 hours / 2 days
