At TL Training, we provide HGV/LGV driver training courses in Liverpool and across the surrounding area. We provide a number of courses suitable for those driving LGV/HGVs, whether they are hoping to gain their Category C1, C or C+E License.
In order to attend the courses, drivers must be aged 18 or over and have their full category B driving license.
We offer the following courses:
Category C1 (7.5 Tonnes):
This course is recommended at those driving ambulances, horse boxes, delivery trucks and home removal trucks. Upon completion of this course, candidates will be aware of how to manage their vehicle and travel in a safe and efficient manner. (Please note: If you passed your driving test prior to 1st January 1997 you should have acquired rights (Cat C1 entitlement on your driving license). You will also need a Driver CPC qualification. This involves attending courses on various aspects of professional driving. You are required to 35 hours of periodic training every 5 years to maintain your CPC. If you passed your driving test after 1st January 1997 are not entitled to drive a vehicle over 3.5 tonnes. You will be required to sit a practical driving test if you wish to drive a vehicle up to 7.5 tonnes.)
Category C:
For those driving vehicles of 7.5 tonnes to 32 tonnes. Eg, fire engine, roadside recovery vehicles, home and commercial removal vehicles and gritters. Category C license holders are able to drive any large good vehicle without a trailer (rigid body vehicle). Once the Category C training has been passed, the license will be upgraded with the C + E provisional entitlement allowing candidates to begin their C+E training.
Category C + E:

This course will be carried out by a TL Training registered DSA examiner. Candidates must demonstrate their ability to carry out the safety checks necessary before setting off on their journey. (Please note: Candidates are able to use their own vehicle for the test)
Yard Shunter Training:
This course aims to reduce the risk of accidents and injuries on site by teaching drivers to carry out manoeuvres such as reversing, trailer coupling and uncoupling safely and efficiently.
