Qualsafe Awards Training Wirral

When your team needs first aid training that employers and regulators actually recognise, the awarding body matters. Qualsafe Awards sits on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) and is one of the UK’s largest Ofqual-regulated organisations for first aid, fire safety and pre-hospital care qualifications. That means certificates your staff can verify, standards that meet HSE guidance, and training that holds up under scrutiny.

TL Training is now an Approved Qualsafe Centre, delivering the full range of Qualsafe-regulated courses from our Wirral training facility and on-site across the UK. Whether you need emergency first aid for a low-risk office or advanced pre-hospital skills for frontline responders, our Qualsafe programmes give your people the competence and certification to back it up.

Benefits of Choosing Qualsafe Awards Training

Qualsafe qualifications aren’t just another tick-box exercise. They’re built to current best practice, mapped to HSE and Resuscitation Council UK guidelines, and updated as standards evolve. Your learners walk away with e-certificates that can be verified instantly through Qualsafe’s secure learner register, which makes compliance audits straightforward and removes any uncertainty about whether a certificate is valid.

Because Qualsafe courses sit on the RQF, they carry credit and level designations that employers, insurers and regulatory bodies understand. That clarity matters when you’re proving your workplace first aid provision meets legal requirements or when employees want recognised qualifications they can build on.

The syllabuses are also designed with real-world application in mind. You won’t find outdated protocols or vague guidance. Instead, expect training that reflects current emergency care practice, delivered by instructors who know how those skills translate under pressure.

Qualsafe Courses Available at TL Training Wirral

We’ve structured our Qualsafe offering around the needs we see most often, from statutory workplace first aid through to specialist pre-hospital emergency care. Below are just a selection of the Qualsafe training courses we offer.

First Aid at Work Courses

Emergency First Aid at Work (1 Day) covers the essentials for lower-risk workplaces: CPR, AED use, choking, bleeding, shock and basic injury management. It’s the minimum standard for many small businesses and gives designated first aiders the core skills to respond confidently until help arrives.

First Aid at Work (3 Days) is the full qualification for higher-risk environments. You’ll cover everything in EFAW plus advanced patient assessment, major trauma, medical emergencies, spinal injuries, fractures and extended care. This is what factories, warehouses, schools and construction sites typically need to meet their legal first aid requirements.

First Aid at Work Requalification (2 Days) refreshes your skills and renews your certificate if you already hold a valid FAW qualification. It’s a more compact route than repeating the full three days, while still bringing you up to date with current protocols and giving you scenario practice with feedback.

Pre-Hospital Emergency Care (FREC)

FREC3 (5 Days) equips first responders with the knowledge and hands-on capability to manage serious emergencies before paramedics arrive. You’ll learn catastrophic bleed control, advanced airway management, oxygen therapy, trauma care, medical emergencies and patient monitoring. It maps to Level D of the Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care framework and is widely used by ambulance services, search and rescue teams, and emergency response personnel.

FREC3 RPL (2 Days) is the Recognition of Prior Learning route for those who already hold a first responder or equivalent qualification. You’ll revisit core FREC3 content through guided revision and scenario work, then demonstrate competency under assessment to gain the full Qualsafe FREC3 certificate.

FREC4 (5 Days) takes pre-hospital care further still. Building on FREC3, this Level 4 course introduces ECG interpretation, advanced airway support, pharmacology, major trauma, paediatric emergencies and mental health crisis response. It’s designed for those moving into EMS roles, event medical teams or specialist response environments where clinical decision-making and extended care are required.

Paediatric First Aid

Emergency Paediatric First Aid (1 Day) gives you the skills to act swiftly in emergencies involving infants and children: CPR, choking relief, seizure recognition, anaphylaxis and injury management. It’s ideal for childcare staff, parents, youth workers and anyone responsible for children in community or sports settings.

Paediatric First Aid (2 Days) is the full qualification that meets early years and childcare regulatory requirements. Alongside all the emergency skills, you’ll cover common childhood illnesses, safeguarding, developmental considerations and ongoing care while waiting for professional help.

Specialist Qualifications

Emergency Medical Gases (1 Day) teaches the safe storage, handling and administration of oxygen and Entonox in pre-hospital settings. You’ll learn when medical gas therapy is appropriate, how to set up equipment correctly, and how to monitor patients during treatment. It’s particularly relevant for first responders, event medics and those progressing from FREC3.

Mental Health First Aid

Mental health training sits alongside physical first aid in a well-rounded workplace safety strategy. Our Qualsafe mental health courses run from awareness level through to supervisory qualifications, equipping your team to recognise mental health challenges, offer initial support and signpost people to appropriate help.

Fire Safety & Manual Handling

Our Qualsafe fire marshal and manual handling courses round out your compliance training needs. Both are delivered to current standards, with practical demonstrations and assessments that prove competence rather than just attendance.

Why Choose TL Training for Qualsafe Courses in Wirral

We’ve been delivering workplace training since 2015, and in 2022 we opened the UK’s largest dedicated forklift and training centre in Bromborough. That facility now hosts our full range of Qualsafe courses, with modern training rooms, realistic scenario stations and all the equipment your learners need to practise skills properly.

Our first aid instructors bring real-world experience to the room. Robin has over 12 years as a Community First Responder with North West Ambulance Service. Martin has 15 years in learning and development. Lesley draws on extensive incident management experience from her aviation background. Richard is ex-military with frontline trauma and security training expertise. When they’re coaching you through a scenario, they’re drawing on actual emergencies they’ve managed, not just textbook theory.

We’re accredited by AITT, RTITB, NPORS, Qualsafe, Highfield and IOSH, which means we understand how different awarding bodies work and what employers expect from each qualification. Our senior management team handles course logistics, compliance and customer support daily, so bookings run smoothly and any questions get answered quickly.

Whether you need training at our Bromborough facility or prefer us to come to your site anywhere in the UK, we’ll tailor the delivery to suit your schedule and space. We provide all materials, equipment and consumables, and every learner gets registered with Qualsafe, assessed to standard, and issued with a verifiable e-certificate on completion.
