Category C Training Courses In Chester
The Category C license is the most popular LGV/HGV license obtained by individuals in the driving industry. This license allows holders to drive any vehicle weighing from 3.5 tonnes up to 32 tonnes. The Category C training is a great start for those who wish to one day drive much larger vehicles. Examples of Category C vehicles include home-delivery trucks, fire engines, roadside recovery vehicles, home and commercial removal trucks, waste disposal trucks and gritters. The Category C license can also be referred to as a Class 2, rigid body or LGV.
There is a huge demand for LGV/HGV drivers and the role often offers a very competitive salary.
How do I get my Category C license?
In order to begin your training, you must be aged 18 or over and already hold a full Category B (car) driving license. You must also pass a number of medical tests to ensure that you are safe to drive such large vehicles. Then you must complete your documentation. Finally, you must complete a theoretical and practical exam, during which an examiner will assess your skills and knowledge.
During the course, you will learn the rules and regulations of driving such large vehicles on the road. You will also learn various reversing and parking techniques to enable you to handle the vehicle safely and efficiently. The aim of the course is to provide candidates with the confidence in themselves and their ability to drive HGV’s on everyday roads, whilst keeping themselves and other road user’s safe at all times.
